This photograph was taken in the early 1920's of Mrs. Lillie Lane, posing with the sculptures she made and had on display at the Faulkner County Fair.
Mrs. Lane made the models from pipe clay (mud) she dug out of the bank of a small stream which runs across her farm. She and her husband, J S., lived on a farm east of Guy, where they reared their 11 children.
Mrs. Lane had no training in sculpting, but was good at molding, carving, and drawing pictures.
