Robert J. Hoy, age 80, died Tuesday, October 29, 2002 at his home, near Appleton. He was born August 17, 1922, at Karnes City, Texas and was a son of the late Jonah Webb and Lula Mae Love Hoy. He was a construction worker, a rancher and an owner-operator trucker. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Leveland, Texas Masonic Lodge # 1236 and a member of the Hector Assembly of God. A daughter, Clara Lea Hoy and a grandson, Dencil Lee Ticer, preceded him in death.

Survivors are his wife, Willa Mae Hoy; a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Dencil Ticer of Hector; a grandson, Daniel Ticer of Appleton; two granddaughters, Jamie Nichols of Centerville, Arkansas and Andrea Springer of Monticello, Arkansas; a great-grandson, Blaine Richey of Centerville; three great-granddaughters, Sean Nichols of Centerville, Destiny Richey of Appleton and Infinity Richey of Monticello.

Funeral will be 2 P. M., Saturday, November 2, at Hector Assembly of God, with Rev. Dean Caldwell, Rev. C. K. Bull and Rev. Shannon Pruitt officiating. Burial, with Masonic Rites by Hector Lodge #497, will be in Crossroads Cemetery. Arrangements are by Shinn Funeral Service.

Pallbearers are Ricky Johnson, Jeff Tharp, Dusty Grashot, Dillon Carruth, Wayne Cole and Daniel Ticer.
Honorary pallbearers are Jim Gaines and Paul Cole.

Willa Mae Hoy, age 81, of the Hector/Appleton Community, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. A daughter of the late Cecil and Clara Mae Kersey Malone, she was born July 31, 1926 in Berclair, Texas. She was a former cosmetologist and cosmetology instructor, and had spent seventeen years driving trucks with her husband, the late Robert J. Hoy. She was a member of the Hector Assembly of God, and was a sweetheart—the best mother-in-law a man could have. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Clara Hoy, and a grandson, Dencil Lee Ticer. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Dencil Ticer of Hector; a sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Ken Tyler of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren: Daniel Ticer and his wife, Elizabeth, of Kansas City, Kansas; Andrea Bradsher and her husband, Charlie, and Jamie Lee Nichols, all of Centerville; five great-grandchildren: Destiny Clara Nichole Richey, Infinity Hope Richey, Raven Dawn Bradsher and Sean Nichols, all of Centerville; and Blaine Richey of Conway; and numerous cousins.

The funeral service will be at 2 P.M. on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the Hector First Assembly of God, officiated by the Rev. Darwin Barnhouse. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery near Appleton, by Shinn Funeral Service.

Active pallbearers will be Wayne Cole, Mike Hughes, Daniel Ticer, Ricky Johnson, Danny Johnson and Dillon Carruth. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Bradsher, Jim Vibbert, Paul Cole and Dr. Kelly Meyer.
