Mary K. "Kat" Kastning
Mary Katherine “Kat” Kastning, age 74 of Yellville, AR, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Baxter Regional Medical Center.
A daughter of the late Onimus and Donnie (Ott) McEntire, she was born September 1, 1940 at Yellville, AR. A lifetime resident of Marion County, Kat was a member of the Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her many friends and family members.
Kat is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Cindy and Jim Collins and Shelly and Doug Edkins all of Yellville; her sister, Jan Beaver of Yellville; her sister-in-law, Sue Roods of Springfield, MO;
and her three brothers-in-law, Harold Mears of Harrison, Ronnie Banks of Springfield, MO, and Wayne Kastning of Hollywood, CA. Kat is also survived by eight grandchildren; Quinn “Buddy” Lowery and his wife Katie, Katrina Lowery and her Fiancé, Frank Swafford, Autumn Martin and her husband Brent, Summer Edkins, Veronica Edkins, Adrena Myrick and her husband Brian, Tera Baldridge and her husband Brad and Megan Tharp; Seven great grandchildren, Kayelynn Martin, Skylar, Lydia and Brynlee Myrick, Alayna and Austin Baldridge and Ava Tharp.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cecil “Jr” Kastning, a daughter Sherry Lynn Kastning; and a sister Carrie Mears.
Visitation for Kat will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, April 27 at Burns Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be 10 A.M. Tuesday, April 28, at the Burns Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jack Gilliland officiating.
Active pallbearers are Tim and Shawn Beaver, Donald Mears, Bruce Banks, Billy Riggs and Tim Wallis.
Honorary pallbearers are all the caring staff at Creekside Health and Rehabilitation, Dr. Shawn Bogle and Derainey Smith.
In honor of Kat memorials can be made to the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery Fund, c/o Fred Burrows, 4727 HWY 14 South, Yellville, AR 72687.
