Wife of John Preston Sikes-Mrs. Mildred Walker Sikes, age 99, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, at her home.Mrs. Sikes was born Aug. 23, 1902, in Forrest City, the daughter of George P. Walker Sr., and Alice Bramell Walker. She lived in Forrest City all of her life, was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church.Mrs. Sikes married John Preston Sikes, and he preceded her in death in 1983.She is survived by a nephew, Collie Walker of Forrest City; two sisters-in-law, Lois Walker and Flora Cox, both of Forrest City and several other nieces and nephews.Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Sikes will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, at the City Cemetery in Forrest City under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home.
