He married Inez Humphries on June 7, 1952 and they were married for over 60 years before the Lord took her home on March 13, 2013. Taylor moved with his family to Smithville where they bought the Old Carson White place where John and Debbie now live and worked many jobs. Taylor never met a stranger and loved everyone. He is a member of Smithville Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and has also served as music leader for years. He loved his church and didn’t like missing church and wouldn’t unless his health wouldn’t allow for him to be there.

Taylor enjoyed spending time with his family. He spent lots of his time cutting wood and hunting with the boys. He loved going fishing and catching catfish. Then he would come home and we would have a big fish fry. As long as he was able Fridays was a time he spent with John and Wesley cutting wood. He looked forward to this time.

Taylor enjoyed playing music and singing with friends and family. He spent a lot of time with his brothers, nephews and other family members singing. He did this until a few years ago when he could no longer do this. He loved singing at church with his family.

His biggest accomplishment was being a good husband, father, uncle and paw paw.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers, sisters and his loving wife Inez., a son-in-law Eugene Young and a grandson Royce Oden Jr. He is survived by one son John (Debbie) Lillard of Smithville, three daughters Nancy Young of Pocahontas, Connie Lillard of Pocahontas and Teresa (Bill) Bussey of Fountain Inn, SC.
