Wilburn V. Smith, 88, of Conway, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, February 8, 2011.

Wilburn was born September 24, 1922 in Perry, to the late Verne Smith and Omie Raney Smith. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Smith.

Wilburn was a member of the First Baptist Church, Mens Fellowship Bible Class and a Mason. He was a machinist working in Detroit at the Chrysler Tank Plant before entering the Navy during W.W. II, graduated from Arkansas State Teachers College and received his masters from the University of Arkansas. He taught math for the Conway Public School District, was principal at Conway Junior High, was business manager for Hendrix and was co-owner of Bumpers and Smith Clothing Store.

Wilburn is survived by his wife of 59 years Virginia Harger Smith of Conway; sisters, Grace MacLean of Conway and Betty Anne Campbell of N. Little Rock; brother Jimmie F. Smith of Conway.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Dale Wicker officiating.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway, 327-7727.

Entombment will be in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
