Mr. James Bradford, age 85, of Forrest City, died Saturday at his home in Forrest City. He had been in poor health for the past several months.
Mr. Bradford was born January 17, 1928, in St. Francis County, and was the son of Jim Bradford and Rose McCain Bradford. He was retired from the Forrest City Postal Service, was a member of the Letter Carriers Association, and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. He was a Veteran of the Merchant Marines and served for thirty-five years in the Arkansas National Guard.
Mr. Bradford married Frances Long in 1954, and she preceded him in death in 2011. He is survived by three sons; James Earl Bradford and Rex Bradford, both of Forrest City, and Charles Bradford of Jonesboro, one daughter, LaNan Parker of Jonesboro, one sister, Virginia Nicks of Forrest City, one brother, Jim Bradford of Forrest City, eleven grandchildren and thirteen-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Beverly Ring, one brother, Howard 'Giggs' Bradford, and one nephew, Howard Joseph Bradford.
Services for Mr. Bradford will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, with burial in Forrest Park Cemetery.
