Mr. Leonard W. Williams age 83, of Widener, died Sunday at the Crestpark Retirement Inn in Forrest City. He had been in poor health for the past two years.
Mr. Williams was born March 5, 1927, in Blytheville, Arkansas, and was the son of John S. Williams and Eures M. Wyatt Williams. He lived in St. Francis County since 1965, was a Farmer, and a Veteran of World War II.
Mr. Williams married Bethel Steele in 1967, and she preceded him in death in 2006. He is survived by one son, Stephen Williams of Forrest City, one daughter, Teresa Williams of Forrest City, two brothers; Cecil R. Williams and Hershel N. Williams, both of Widener, one grandchild, Lynn Hernandez, and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bethel Williams, age 61, of Widener, died Sunday, May 28, 2006, at her home. Mrs. Williams was born June 3, 1944, in Blytheville, the daughter of Henry Steele and Mary Edith Newberry Steele. She lived in St. Francis County for most of her life and was a house wife. Mrs. Williams married Leonard Williams in 1967 and he survives her along with a step-daughter, Teresa Williams of Forrest City; a step-son, Steven Williams of Forrest City; two brothers, James Steele of Michigan and Walter Steele of Dyersburg, Tenn.; two sisters, Dora Smith and Ethel Adams both of Clarksville, Tenn.; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Williams will be held graveside at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at Forrest Park Cemetery. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
