PRICE, Melissa Pallett - Melissa Pallett Price was born October 22, 1834 in Jackson county, Mo. and was married to John Price August 20, 1856 in Lawrence county, Mo. and to this union were born two girls and a boy, the oldest daughter dying in infancy. The son, Stewart Price, lives in Oklahoma. Grandma Price made her home with her daughter, Mrs. W.J. Kellogg, near Garfield, her husband having died in 1909. She professed hope in Christ at the age of 40 and it was the comfort of her last days as well as a stay through her travels up life's thorny road, for many steps have those feet trod in her 81 years of life and very helpless was she in the last two years. She suffered untold agonies with rheumatism and two strokes of paralysis and at last God saw fit to say "It is enough, come up higher," on Thursday, April 22. Friday she was placed by the side of her husband who was her companion for 53 years and now they are sweetly resting in Rogers cemetery. J.W. Bryant, undertaker of Rogers, carried her there. The family has our deep sympathy in their bereavement.
