Ruth Marie Ray Richards, age 85, of Bald Knob died Friday, August 8, 2008.
Mrs. Richards was born at Bradford, March 2, 1923, the daughter of L.E. (Loney) and Beulah Aydelott Ray. Ruth graduated from Bradford High School and received her Masters Degree from Arkansas State Teachers College (UCA) where she was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma. She taught school in Calico Rock and Bald Knob, retiring after 28 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, AARP, White County Retired Teachers Assn, Bald Knob Garden Club and had served as treasurer for many years for the Woodman of the World, Bald Knob Lodge. Ruth enjoyed her Ladies Bridge Club and played until her recent illness.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Ruth Richards Locke and her husband Jimmy of Dumas; grandson, James Weldon Locke of the U of A in Fayettville and Taylor Richards Locke of Dumas. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Weldon Richards.
