Mrs. Geraldine Giles, age 79, of Palestine, died Friday, March 29, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. Mrs. Giles, born April 27, 1922, in Crosby, was the daughter of John Branscomb and Nora Dell Ray Branscomb. She lived in eastern Arkansas for most of her life and was a housewife and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. In 1937 Mrs. Giles married Rev. Glen Giles and he preceded her in death in 1987. She is survived by two sons, Carl Giles of Forrest City and Wayne Giles of Berryville; two daughters, Linda Wood of West Memphis and Judy Jayroe of Palestine; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, Collier Shaw Fisher and Addison Gray Erwin.Funeral services for Mrs. Giles were held today, Monday, April 1, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Burial followed at Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
