Wife of James K Nance
Mrs. Betty Jean 'B.J.' Nance, age 78, of Searcy, and a former long time resident of Forest City, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2006, in Searcy. Mrs. Nance was born Nov. 8, 1927, in Lexington, Okla., the daughter of Wilbur S. Smith and Sadie Daniels Smith. She attended the University of Oklahoma and Harding College, was a housewife and retired bookkeeper. In 1946 Mrs. Nance married James K. Nance, and he preceded her in death in 1998. She is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Moore of Tallahassee, Fla.; two sons, Jim Nance and Tommy Nance, both of Searcy; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kimberly Nance in 1993. Visitation will be held from Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Forrest Park Cemetery.
