Mary Rhodes Cooper, age 86, of North Little Rock, passed away April 1, 2006. Mary was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Jon G. Cooper; her parents, Dr. Shelby and Rhodes Atkinson; son, Thomas A. Cooper; and grandson, Jon Coker. She is survived by daughters, Martha Dalton of Jacksonville and Becky Sunderman (Sandy) of Batesville; son, Richard Cooper (Susan) of North Little Rock; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mary was a homemaker in North Little Rock, raising four children. She attended Little Rock Junior College and Hendrix College. Mary traveled extensively abroad. She loved the outdoors and gardening, was a wonderful cook, homemaker and mother. She received her private pilot's license and flew open cockpit planes. Memorials may be made to the Friends of His Presbyterian Church, 1402 E Kiehl Avenue, NLR, 72116.

A private graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 JFK Blvd, NLR (791-7400).
