November 4, 1901 - January 16, 1962
Mrs. Annie Neal, 60, who lived with a daughter at Pascola, about three miles off Highway 84, was murdered at her home sometime Tuesday, according to a report issued by Pemiscot County Sheriff Clyde Orton.
A white man, about 24, and known to officers, was being sought for questioning by officials in connection with the crime. He was last seen afoot in Pascola, according to officers.
Mrs. Neal's daughter, whose name was not known, went home from school and called officers when she couldn't find her mother, Sheriff Orton said.
A search turned up Mrs. Neal's body which was found under a bed with several boxes piled in front of it. About $240 was missing, according to the sheriff.
Missouri Highway patrol has joined county officers in the all-out search for the suspect.
