VILONIA — Two men were found beaten to death Thursday morning at a rural house they shared east of Vilonia, near the White County line.

Lonnie Franklin Brock, 62, and Bobby Don Brock, 45, who were cousins, were discovered dead by family members who called 911 around 9 a.m., officials said.

Both men died of blunt force trauma, according to Faulkner County Coroner Patrick Moore, who pronounced the men dead at 10:10 a.m. Moore said the bodies had been sent to the state Crime Laboratory for autopsies.

Sheriff's Lt. Matt Rice said officers with the Faulkner County Major Crime Unit are investigating the killings, which have been ruled homicides. Rice said the killings probably happened sometime Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.

CONWAY, Ark. (AP) - A man charged in connection with two homicides in central Arkansas will spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Ronald Charles pleaded guilty to two counts of capital murder on Monday in Conway and was sentenced as part of an agreement with Faulkner County prosecutors.

Charles is slated to testify in the trial of his co-defendant, Troy Crook, in August. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty against Crook.

Prosecutors say Charles and Crook attacked cousins Bobby and Lonnie Brock before Crook shot them to death in 2008. Prosecutors say the two men stole guns from the Brocks and traded them for cocaine.

Charles' attorney, Stephen Ralph, declined to comment. Crook's attorney, James Wyatt, didn't immediately return a message left Monday afternoon.
