James Irl Van Winkle, 84, Tulsa, Okla., former resident of Spring Valley, died Oct. 31 in a Sapulpa, Okla. hospital. Born Sept. 21, 1890 at Spring Valley, he was the son of Ransom and Jane Van Dyke Van Winkle, and a retired farmer.
Survivors include three sons, Bruce Van Winkle of California, Charles Van Winkle, Tulsa, Okla., and George Van Winkle, Fayetteville; one daughter, Mrs. Lilly McNabb, St. Louis, Mo.; five sisters, Mrs. Sally Holmesley, Springdale, Mrs. Elsie Harris, Fullerton, Calif., Mrs, Maude Biggs, St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Jessie Loyd of Illinois and Mrs. Mary Scott, Bentonville; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Spring Valley Baptist Church. Burial will be in Joyce Cemetery under the direction it a Tulsa funeral home.
