Lonnie Long, age 74, of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away Friday, September 6, 2013, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was born July 19, 1939, in Rosie, Arkansas to John and Lillian (Burt) Long.
Mr. Long married Joyce Davenport October 20, 1965, in Lake City, Arkansas. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pocahontas, Arkansas. He was a retired Journeyman Tool and Die maker for 45 years. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Long is survived by his wife Joyce Long of Mountain Home, a daughter: Karen Karr of Mountain Home and her boyfriend: Matt Wilbur of Norfork, Arkansas, a grandson: Derek Karr of Little Rock, Arkansas, a sister: Linda Starnes of Calidona, Mississippi, three brothers: Lloyd Long of Leachville, Arkansas, Boyce Long of Manila, Arkansas and Otis Long of Lake City, Arkansas, two half-sisters: Virginia Collins of Piercetown, Arkansas and Ruby Case of Harrison, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: AJ Long, Robert Long and Johnny Long and a sister: Inez Lawrence.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2013, at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Doug Huskey officiating. A visitation will be Friday from Noon until 9:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.
Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.
