SPRINGDALE — William Lee Couch, 79, of Springdale passed away on Dec. 6, 2011, at the Maples after battling Parkinson*s disease for many years. He was born May 2, 1932, in Noel, Mo., to Rufus Gayle and Eva Inez Planchon Couch.

He served in the U.S. Navy where he earned the rank of gunner's mate 2. He was vice president of Commercial Building Maintenance. He was a member of the Elmdale Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and sang in the choir.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Louise Joslin; and one brother, Jim Couch.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Betty Couch; three sons, Joe Couch and Floyd Couch, both of Springdale, and Bill Couch of Greenwood; one daughter, Brenda Baker of Alma; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Gary Couch of Arizona; and two sisters, Dean Crumbliss of Rhode Island and Doris Tertzakian of Michigan.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale, with the Rev. Tom Shaw and Pastor Chris Plunkett officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
