Danny Bishop, 66, of El Paso, passed away at his home Sunday, January 8th. He was born September 14, 1945 in Conway to the late Doyle Roy and Flossie Marita (Edwards) Bishop.
Danny was a retired Master Electrician and attended Vilonia School through the 8th grade and graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1963. Danny was instrumental in building the present football complex and field and the Vilonia Baseball and softball complex as well as, coaching little league baseball for a number of years. He served on the Vilonia School Board from 1976 to 1978. Danny was a member in good standing of United Fellowship Church, Wiser Adults Sunday School Class, and served on the church finance committee.
Danny is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Jackie of Vilonia, sons, Randy (Tanya), and Steve of Mt. Vernon, and Toby (Nancy) of Vilonia, one daughter, Tracie LeMarr, of Vilonia, grandsons Robbie Bishop, Drew Bostian, Tristan and Cooper Bishop, Lane LeMarr, all of Vilonia, and Ian and Garrett Bishop of Mt. Vernon, grand-daughters, Sarah Loyd (Caleb) of Enola and Jessica LeMarr of Vilonia and Brittany Pryor of Little Rock, great-grandson, Wyatt Loyd of Enola, brothers, Bud (Lowetta), and Darrell (Charlotte) of North Little Rock, and Jimmy (Brenda) of Conway, sisters, Irice Sipes (Jerry), and Carol Hambrick (Bill) all of Conway.
Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday January 11, 2012 at United Fellowship Church in El Paso, with Bro. Bob King and Bro. Joe Engdahl officiating. Burial will follow at Cypress Valley Cemetery in Vilonia, under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway(501-327-7727). Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Norwood, Goose Norwood, Bud Bostic, Toby Bostic, Chris Ussery, Herman Wilson, Mike Turner, and Kimmie Manning. Visitation is from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Soaring Wings Ranch, P.O. Box 1670, Conway, AR 72033.
