Miss Betty Sue Goforth, age 66, of Arkana, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at Gassville Therapy and Living Center in Gassville, Arkansas.
She was born September 30, 1947, in Mountain Home, Arkansas to Allen Baty and Arrie Mae Dilbeck Goforth. Miss Goforth was a lifetime area native, earned a Bachelors Degree from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, and taught school for nine years at Viola High School. She worked for H&R Block. She was a member of Norfork First Baptist Church and enjoyed crafts, crocheting, sewing, flower arranging and traveling.
Survivors are her mother: Arrie Goforth: Arkana; a brother: Robert (Mary Ann) Goforth: Gamaliel, Arkansas; two sisters: Mary (Allen) Walton: Arkana; and Cathy (Denny) Copeland: Pineville, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Allen B. Goforth and a brother: Gerald Allen Goforth.
Visitation will be from Noon-9:00 P.M. Thursday with the family receiving friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Roller Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday in the Roller Chapel with Reverend David Wiley officiating. Interment will follow in Arkana Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Arkana Cemetery Fund.
