Josephine Evans
Wife of Tom Evans
(No dates are inscribed on the gravestone)

Josephine is one of three ladies that are buried in the Galatia Cemetery that the cemetery researchers have been unable to determine a maiden name. Birth & Death dates have also not been determined. It appears that she was probably the second of three wives of Tom Evans, and she probably died around 1909. In the 1910 census of Northfork Township, Tom Evans, a widower, is recorded with his three-year old daughter Lucille. The Baxter County Marriage Records show that T. J. Evans, 55, married Mrs. Lou Tinnon, 26, on November 6, 1910. Wm. B. Evans, 15, was also listed in the 1910 census, and appeared to be a son of Tom, but based upon the state of birth of his mother, and the state of birth of Lucille Evans, it appears he was a son of a previous wife. The only other clue that has been found concerning the Evans family is that the membership rolls of the Adams Masonic Lodge, Norfork, shows that T. J. Evans has his membership transferred from the Lead Hill Lodge.
