On Friday, June 1, 2012, Marty Jason Kurck, age 34, departed this life along with his friend Jimmy Canter, doing what they liked to do, planning a family cookout and riding their UTVs. Together as always, they are now eternally together in the land of beauty and peace, Heaven.
Marty worked hard at whatever task was before him. As a member of the 798 Pipe Liners Union, he loved his job, was dedicated, and very good at it. As long as he was welding he was happy and proud of his accomplishments. He was well respected by anyone who had ever worked beside him. He taught many people so much with his ethics and hard work. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Joy Fire Department.
Marty was also a very talented sportsman, always looking to improve his already excellent skills of hunting and fishing. He couldn't wait to teach his 4 year old son, Milo, how to hunt and was already his "best fishing buddy." They also loved riding around in the mule and watching cartoons together.
Parents, Gerald and Daisy Kurck, were so proud of their son, Marty, born on February 18, 1978. His wife, Shila (Covington) and their son, Milo Jacob Kurck, the light of their life, will never be able to fill the huge hole in their hearts.
Also left with many wonderful memories to cherish are his sister, Stephanie (Chad) Townsend and their daughter Nora Lee, and his brother Justin Kurck and his children Jacie and Jasper Kurck, all of Rose Bud; father and mother-in-law Robin and Tresa Covington; brother-in-law Jeremy (Cathy) Covington and children Alicia (Zoie), Stephanie (Serena), Ricky, Kaylyn and Lucas, all of Gravel Hill. All of his nieces and nephews loved their Uncle Marty as did many relatives and countless friends.
Marty was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wesley and Nora Litaker; his paternal grandparents, Henry and Lavern Kurck; uncles, Jerry, Truman and Albert Kurck; an aunt Joetta Kurck; and a first cousin, Ronnie Litaker.
Marty was just a plain, honest, hard working, caring, good ole boy. He would want and expect everyone to dress casually for his visitation Tuesday night from 6 to 8 p.m. and his service Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home of Searcy. Interment will be at Sidon.
Friends are encouraged to share any comments or memories of Marty at the service. There will be an opportunity to do so during the service. Please write down and bring your memories of Marty to be passed on to Milo to help him remember just how special his dad and best buddy was.
We love and miss you Marty, and will see you again.
