Kurt Justice Hommel 68 Yrs. old Short, Oklahoma Kurt Justice Hommel 68, of the Short community in Oklahoma went to be with the Lord April 19, 2010 at his home. He was born October 29, 1941 to Heinrich and Katherina Hommel in Frankfurt,Germany. Before coming to the U.S, he apprenticed in the tool and dye industry. He came to the U.S. in 1960 by one of the last passenger ships, the “Berlin”. He became a citizen in 1965. He spent most of his life working in the tool and dye industry. Kurt loved life and lived out his dreams of flying a plane, owning his own business, being a cowboy and living in the country. He enjoyed spending time with family and taking care of his small ranch where he raised cattle. To his friends he was known as the “German Cowboy”. He dearly loved his wife, family and his pets. He is preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Cheryl Collins. He is survived by his wife Hazel, two sons, Thomas Hommel of Tulsa, OK, Randy and Carol Collins of Short, OK, four daughters Cindy and J.R. Ludewick of Owasso, OK, Glenda and Dale Harris of Beggs OK, Linda and Mike Harrell of Tulsa, OK, Mary Jo and Darren Mize of Spiro, OK. A brother Peter and Mariandl Hommel of Obertshausen, Germany, a sister Katherina and Klause DeGode of Worpswede, Germany, sixteen grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
