Mr. Carl Franklin Zigler, 66, of McCrory, departed this life on November 3, 2011. He was born October 7, 1945 at Cotton Plant, the son of William Franklin and Francis Louvina (Weaver) Zigler.
Mr. Zigler was born and raised in the Cotton Plant and McCrory areas. He had worked for Royal Shoe Factory, American Greetings in Augusta, The Augusta Corporation, and at McCrory High School in maintenance. He was a Christian, and loved life. He enjoyed fishing, and hunting, especially, deer, squirrel, and dove. He taught his nephews to hunt. Mr. Zigler had a special love for and enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Peggy Braswell.
Mr. Zigler is survived by one brother, Jimmy Dale Zigler of Augusta, Arkansas; five sisters, Helen Maxine Thrift of Carlisle, Arkansas, Patsy Ann Lackie of Cabot, Arkansas; Janice Marie Weeks of Grays, Arkansas, Genny Gail Ferrell of Bay Village, Arkansas, Prudie Lynn Loftus of Clinton, Arkansas; eleven nieces and nephews; and thirteen great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Monday at Thompson-Wilson McCrory Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Cotton Plant Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday, noon until service time.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Phil Burkett, William Davis, Frankie Baker, Michael Ferrell, Darel Withrow, and Corey Weeks. Honorary pallbearers are William Adams, Red Lackie, and Shawn Lackie.
