Springdale, July 1.- While his two small playmates looked on helplessly James Henry Cawood, 10 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Cawood, was drowned at Butler's Ford, northeast of town near the Cawood home, close to White river Sunday afternoon. The body was recovered late Monday morning by John Barry Graham, a neighbor. The three small boys had gone out to play. One of the group jumped into the water, strangled and came out. The two boys stayed out but James went in and went under. The little boys, frightened, remained around the ford for some time before they went home and reported the tragedy to the boy's parents. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Friendship, east of Springdale, with the Rev. Mr. Ballew in charge. The boy leaves his parents, four brothers and a sister.
