Robert Alton Emerson
SPRINGDALE — Robert Alton Emerson, 82, of Springdale was called home by his Lord on March 21, 2008. He was born Jan. 26, 1926, in Woolum, Van Buren County, to Robert and Ama Dale Emerson.

He was a longtime member of Elmdale Baptist Church in Springdale. He was a retired carpenter and a World War II Navy veteran. He loved the mountain scenery and God's beautiful handiwork. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and playing card games, dominoes and jigsaw puzzles.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one baby sister, Wanda Jones.

Survivors include his wife, Berniece Freeman Emerson, of the home, whom he married Aug. 13, 1949; one daughter, Sandra Graham and husband Charles S. Graham of Springdale; one grandson, Charles Blaine Graham of Bentonville; two sisters, Alma Barnes and Viva Pratt, both of Springdale; one brother, Royce Jones of Springdale and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale with the Rev. Tom Shaw officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery. No visitation is planned.

Palbearers are Charles Blaine Graham, Royce Jones, John Carpenter, Mike Glasgow, Bob Pratt and Jerry Pratt. Honorary pallbearers are Charles S. Graham, Arthur Collins and Elmdale Baptist Church Adult 7 Mens Sunday School Class.

Memorials maybe made to Circle of Life Hospice 901 Jones Road, Springdale, 72762.
