Jimmie Val Whitley died on November 16, 2011. He was born to Velpeau and Ida Joy Graham Whitley on November 20, 1936. He would have been 75 years old in four days. He was a crane operator most of his life and in this later years worked as a dump truck driver for Stonecrafters in Quitman, Arkansas, where he was a lifelong resident. Jimmie died as a result of a work related accident.

He is survived by his wife Linda Hancock Whitley; three daughters, Tammy Tyson (husband Johnny) of Mt. Home, Olivia Anglin (husband Doug) of Flint, Texas, and Knovalee Hancock of Quitman, Arkansas; two sons, James Whitley (wife Tara) from Joshua, Texas, and Nathaniel Hancock (wife Linda) from Cabot, Arkansas; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and numerous friends and other relatives.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Francis Steelman.

Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Quitman, Arkansas, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 19th. Viewing will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in South Cross Roads Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be David Wildman, Sean Hancock, Corey Johnson, Johnny Tyson, Damon Puckett, and L. J. Scoggins. Honorary pallbearers are Porter Bray, Bobby Ballentine, Bobby Steelman, Skyler Johnson, and Natashia Hancock.
