John Leonard Taylor, 88, of Houston, [TX] formerly of Warren, Arkansas, died March 30, 1998, at Memorial Hospital at Houston. He was born on February 14, 1910, in Bradley County, Arkansas, a son of the late John Lewis and Etta Hall Taylor. He was a self-employed building contractor for J.L. Taylor Company for 40 years. He was member of Second Baptist Church at Houston for 50 years.
Survivors include his wife, Flora Meek Taylor, whom he married on June 24, 1933; a son, John Leonard Taylor of Houston; a daughter, Gloria Taylor Maxwell of Ottawa, Kansas; a brother, Robert Taylor of Warren; a sister, Virginia Kight of Houston; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Frazer's Funeral Home at Warren. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery at Warren.
