James Wilbern Lee Kennedy, age 75, of Quitman, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at the Southridge Village Nursing and Rehab Center in Heber Springs. Born in Quitman on June 25, 1934, he was the son of the late Daniel Lee and Ottie (Barker) Kennedy.

A lifetime resident of Cleburne County, Mr. Kennedy was a retired car dealer. His religious belief was Baptist.

Mr. Kennedy was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Deborah Lois Kennedy and Delores Jean Kennedy, and an infant granddaughter, K. B. Kennedy.

He is survived by four sons, James Kennedy, Tim Kennedy, and Alan Kennedy, all of Quitman, and Curtis Kennedy of Conway three daughters, Mary Ann Heifner and Elisha R. Kennedy, both of Jacksonville, and Krystal Beth Steele of Conway; one brother, D. L. Kennedy of Little Rock; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Kennedy is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 27, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Olmstead Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 28, at 2:00 p.m. at the Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. James Willis officiating. Interment will follow in the Goodloe Cemetery. Danny Kennedy, Tony Heifner, Steve Heifner, Chad Kennedy, Mark Holland, and Jimmy Smith will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer is Robbie Hicks.
