Mr. Gene Rutherford Finn, 84 of Greenbrier, died at his home Sunday, December 20, 2009. Gene was born September 25, 1925 in Grainola, OK to the late Joe and Louise (Rutherford) Finn. He is also preceded in death by sister, Mary Jo Gregg, brother John B. Finn, and grandson Eric C. Finn.
Mr. Finn served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a cattle rancher and also enjoyed raising horses. He was a member of Beryl Baptist Church in Vilonia. He was passionate about his God, family and country.
Gene is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patsy (Oliver) Finn of Greenbrier; children Rev. Joe D. Finn and wife Sheryl of Oklahoma City, OK, Nicholas R. Finn, DVM and wife Marcia of Little Rock, Teresa S. Miller and husband Dennis of Greenbrier, and Gena B. Shaw and husband Tommy of Houston, TX; brother Glenn D. Finn and wife June of Odessa, TX; and 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Beryl Baptist Church, with son Rev. Joe Finn officiating. Burial will follow at Needs Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rick Reynolds, and grandsons Jody Finn, Nathan Finn, Brian Miller, Chris Fletcher, and Robbie Polk.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm Tuesday at Griffin Leggett Funeral Home, 1751 Dave Ward Dr., Conway, AR 72034
