Believed to be the son of Joel E & Ellen McWhirter Payne
The Payne family moved from Warren County, Tennessee, to Texas at this time and some information shows that Aaron died here on the way to Texas

Friday, April 21, 1899
PAYNE, Aaron - {from The Fayetteville Daily, Monday} Aaron Payne of Texas died at 5 o'clock today at his brother's home near Goshen. He came here on a visit two weeks ago and was taken ill with pneumonia Wednesday. He was a promising young man, in the 21st year of his age. His father arrived in time to see his son alive. The interment will take place at Mt. Comfort tomorrow.
