Robert J. Maxwell, age 80, of Cherry Hill, passed away, Tuesday, January 12, 2010. He was born December 26, 1929 in Waldron, Arkansas, a son of Harvey Maxwell and Mattie Wilson Maxwell. He retired from Maxwell Logging and Maxwell Cedar Mill and enjoyed his woodworking hobby after his retirement. He was also a member of Cherry Hill Freewill Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his mother Mattie Maxwell Essman, his father, Harvey Maxwell and step-father, Wesley Essman; his sisters Esther Maxwell, Anne Graham; his brothers Leman Maxwell and Lester Maxwell.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Naomi Scott Maxwell of Cherry Hill; children, Ron Maxwell and wife Ruby of Perryville; Johnnie Ellen Trower and husband Robert of Cherry Hill; David Maxwell and wife Martha of Cherry Hill; Jim Maxwell and wife Carla of Perry; two sisters, Faye Ellison of Winslow, Arizona and Wanda Barnes of Perryville; one brother, J.L. Maxwell of Perryville;
seven grandchildren, Raudy Maxwell, Josh Maxwell, Jodi Lee, Rebecca Carr, Jessie West, Christopher Maxwell, and Scott Trower; four great-grandchildren, Ashley, Amber, Ava Grace and Louise Ahmery.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 15 at Cherry Hill Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Gene Tanner and Bro. Sonny Stone officiating. Burial will be at Cherry Hill Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Perryville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, January 14 at the funeral home.
