FAYETTEVILLE — Blake Edward Stockburger, 7, of Fayetteville went to be with our Heavenly Father Nov. 25, 1999, following a long struggle with cancer, after lengthy stays at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, St. Jude's in Memphis, Tenn., Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Md., and Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.
He was born Oct. 12, 1992, in Fayetteville, the son of Eddie and Christie Stockburger. He was a first-grade student at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School in Bentonville. He attended Ridgeview Baptist Church and loved and was loved by many friends and the many hearts he touched.
He is survived by his parents, Eddie and Christie Stockburger, of Fayetteville; two brothers, Keith Stockburger and Tim Stockburger, both of Fayetteville; his grandmother, Sue Stockburger of Fayetteville; his grandparents, Anita and Lee King of Independence, Kan.; his great-grandmother, Effie Thomas of Fayetteville; and numerous aunts, uncles and relatives from around the country.
Services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, at Ridgeview Baptist Church, 1850 Huntsville Rd., Fayetteville. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that friends bring a single yellow rose and a toy which will be donated as a Christmas gift in Blake's wire to various children's charities.
