Carl L. Newcomb, age 58 of Monkey Run was born August 19, 1947 in Manila, AR to Thomas and Lorene Newcomb. He was a brick mason in the construction business. Carl married Wanda Marler Nelson August 17, 1973 in Mountain Home. Mr. Newcomb was a member of the Pilgrim’s Rest Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Mr. Carl L. Newcomb is survived by his wife Wanda Newcomb, sons: Bobby Joe Nelson (Kathy) and Darren Newcomb all of Monkey Run; five grandchildren: Alanis Nelson, Carrie, Amber, MaKayla and Britney Newcomb; Mother: Lorene Parker of Buford and sisters: Virginia Burks (Seldon) of Theodosia, MO and Linda Swadley (James) of Buford along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of good friends. Mr. Newcomb was preceded in death by his father Thomas Newcomb and son Ray Dean Newcomb.
Visitation for Mr. Carl L. Newcomb will be Monday, 12-9:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends 6-8:00 p.m. at the Roller Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Gene Carson officiating. Burial will be in the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. Mr. Newcomb passed away April 7, 2006 at Baxter Regional Medical Center.
Memorials may be made to the Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church.
Funeral arrangements are by the Roller Funeral Home.
