FAYETTEVILLE — Elmer Riddle, 81, of Fayetteville died Thursday, July 5, 2007, at Washington Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 3, 1926, in Fayetteville, the son of Andrew and Laura Riddle. He was preceded in death by his brothers, J.C. London and Carl Riddle and his sisters, Bessie Smith and Gladys Lowe.
He was a lifelong resident of Northwest Arkansas. He served two years during World War II in the Navy. He retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital in 1984. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Razorback Sam's Camping Club. He was also a longtime volunteer at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Fayetteville.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, June Riddle; one son, Phil Riddle and wife Christine of Tulsa, Okla.; one daughter, Patty McClellan and husband Carrol of Fayetteville; one brother, Waltter Riddle of West Fork; five grandchildren, Jeremy Riddle, Aja Vaught, Sarah Riddle, Audrey Riddle and Charlie Riddle; three great-grandchildren, Kevin Riddle, Isabella Vaught and Jude Vaught; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rob Bailey officiating.
Visitation and interment will be private.
Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1021 W. Sycamore, Fayetteville, 72703. Arrangements are by Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville, www.mooresfuneralchapel.com.
