Charles R. "Chuck" Welter, age 83, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, formerly of Des Plaines, Illinois passed away Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009. He was born April 7, 1926 in Evanston, Illinois to Hugh and Frances (Slade) Welter. Mr. Welter married Lois Hoffmann November 26, 1949 in Wilmette, Illinois. He was an installer for Illinois Bell Telephone Company IBEW Local 336 retiring after 35 years. He was a United States Navy veteran serving during WWII. Mr. Welter is survived by his wife of sixty years, Lois M. Welter; a son Steven Welter (Carolyn); four daughters Susan Wartalski (Robert), Peggy Welter, Nancy Welter and Carol O'Connor (Steven); three grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
