Friday, October 11, 1895

AARON, Geo. - Geo. Aaron, living 4 miles West of the city, died Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock and was buried at the cemetery at Elm Springs Wednesday afternoon, services being conducted by Dr. Steel of the South Methodist Church. Deceased had been sick for some three years and his death was not entirely unexpected. He has been a resident of this section for many years and had the respect and good-will of all. He leaves several children and grand-children to mourn his loss and to them The News tenders sympathy.

His first marriage was about 1857 to Malissa (Rittenberry ?). She died prior to 1867. He then married Mary Marilda Baggett on 01 Jan 1867 in Elm Springs, Washington County. The ceremony was conducted by his neighbor, Dr. Marion D Steele,M.D. who was also a Methodist Minister. They parented 8 children plus the one daughter, Fannie, by his first marriage. Mary Marilda died in 1878 after the birth of Cora. George later married C. J. Baker on 16 Dec 1883 who was of War Eagle Mill and 23 years of age.
