Eugene G. "Gene" Jedlicki, age 67, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, died Friday, February 26, 2010. He was born August 11, 1942, in Foley, Minnesota, to Severyn and Alice Stellmach Jedlicki. On June 22, 1964, he married Jacqueline "Jackie" LaVigne in Foley. He retired as a construction foreman for the Opus Corporation, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and moved to Mountain Home in 1997 from Spring Lake Park, Minnesota. A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era, he was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, the International Union of Operating Engineers, Alley-White American Legion Post #52 and served on its Honor Guard, Baxter Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, AARP, and was a volunteer with the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, gardening, planting and caring for his fruit orchard, bird-watching, traveling, NASCAR racing and helping others.
Survivors are his wife: Jacqueline "Jackie" Jedlicki: of the home; sons: Allen (Rexanna) Jedlicki and Todd (Kris) Jedlicki: all of Eagle River, Alaska; brothers: Duane (Sheri) Jedlicki: Garrison, Minnesota; and Lloyd (JoAnn) Jedlicki: Rice, Minnesota; sisters: Darlene (Gordon) Jurek: Foley, Minnesota; and Sharleen (Mike) Hanson: Brainerd, Minnesota; grandsons: Bret Jedlicki: Eagle River, Alaska and Aaron Jedlicki: Anchorage, Alaska; several nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Dan and Janice Kujawa. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with Reverend Stan Swiderski as celebrant. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of Honor in Baxter Memorial Gardens with military honors by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52.
