January 13, 1860 - July 25, 1907

Wife of Joseph M Logan

Mrs.Joe Logan Dead=General regret and sorrow prevailed and was expressed in this community this morning, when it was known that the spirit of Mrs.Joe Logan had taken its flight and passed over the river. Mrs.Logan had been in failing health for some time, being afflcited with dropsy, and has had every attention of devoted husband and friends and the beneifit of physicians, but all to no avail. Thursday, July 25,1907 at 12 o'clock at her home in Johnson township. The funeral and interment will take place this Friday evening at the Hughes cemetery under the auspices of the Knights and Ladies of Honor, of which order she was a devoted member. Rev.B.L.Wilford will conduct the religious ceremonies. Mrs.Logan was the wife of Deputy Sheriff Joe Logan, who survives her, and is well known in this county. She also leaves one daughter, Mrs.L.R.Webb, and both are heartbroken at her demise. She was 47 years of age, and had been a consistent member of the Methodist church for seventeen years. Mrs.Sallie A.Logan was born in Tennessee on Jan.13,1860. She was first married to Othello Donell. Their union was blessed with one child, Sula, a lovely daughter, to whom she was much devoted and who was very much devoted to her mother, so much so that she was never away from her mother for as much as a week at one time, and was as attentive to her as she could be, staying with her night and day, doing everything that she could until the end, when Mrs.Webb, nee Sula Donnol, was so much overcome with grief that it seemed she could not give up her mother at all. Mrs.Logan was married for the second time Jan.31,1883 with Mr.Joseph M.Logan, and this union was blessed with one child-a handsome boy, Joseph W.-who was a great source of pleasure to his parents., but when he was only nine or ten years of age, God willed that the little fellow should lose his life by accident, which incident tore their heartstrings and the family deplored very much. Mrs. Logan took sick about the first of February with jaundice, and later she was afflicted with dropsy, which finally caused her death. Forrest City Times Newspaper Jul.26,1907 and Aug.2,1907
