Life Long Resident of Izard County Passes

Lloyd Earl McCurley, life-long resident of this area, passed away May 31 at the age of 56 years, 6 months and 11 days. He was born November 11, 1900 at Pleasant Grove, Arkansas.

On January 13, 1924 he was united in marriage to Bertha Sartin. Mr McCurley was a member of the Methodist Church at Knob Creek, Ark.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha of the home; one son, Lyndle of the home; two daughters Norma Gillihan of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Irene Blees of Hot Springs, Ark.; three grandchildren, Connie Blees of Hot Springs, Wayne and Rodger Gillihan of Lee's Summit; three uncles, Oscar Reynolds of Knob Creek, Westly Reynolds of Oxford, and Zeekie Reynolds of Oxford and three aunts Nelly Hammond of Wideman, Mag Gifford of Melbourne and Ruth Thrasher of Tulsa.

Funeral services were held Sunday June 2nd at 2:30 p.m. at the Calico Rock Baptist Church with Rev. Hugh Cooper and Rev. Charles Duncan officiating.

Pallbearers were Euall Seay, Jim Dillard, Oat French, A. B. Whitfield, Charlie Hicks and Bud Lucy.

Interment was in the Rose Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Hall Funeral Home.
