1746 - July 25, 1831

James Phillips, aged 85 years, died in Van Buren, Arkansas, July 25, 1831. He was a soldier of the Revolution. He was the father of Daniel and Thomas Phillips, first settlers who Phillip's Landing was named for and was later changed to Van Buren. Monument erected by the Mary Fuller Percival Chapter of DAR of Van Buren Arkansas 1909
