Pavillion OVERVIEW

Strain Cemetery (Elkins) Cemetery
Washington County,
Arkansas

This is the overview of the Pavillion for Strain Cemetery located approximately 3 miles west of Elkins in S33, T16N, R29W, and just across the road east of Middle Fork of White River.

Directions to this cemetery are as follows:
From Fayetteville, travel East on Highway 16 toward Elkins.
At Co.Rd. 133, turn left (South) and this road will end in approx. 1 mile. At the stop sign, turn right on Co. Rd. 51/Harris Drive (West). Co. Rd. 51 will curve and begin to head south.

Co. Rd. 51 will eventually allow you to continue straight, at which the road will become Co. Rd. 134, or turn right (West) and continue on Co. Rd. 51. Warning: I went with Co. Rd. 51 and it is a rough road for a low-lying car, but definitely passable. Continue on Co. Rd. 51 (also on some maps referred to as "Harris Road"), which eventually turns and heads south. The cemetery will be three or so miles down this road and on the right. It cannot be missed. Continue on Co. Rd. 51 another half mile and you will come to the intersection of Co. Rd. 51 and Co. Rd. 134, which is also known as Strain Community Road in Elkins. This is where the covered pavillion is located.
