J. Wythe Walker Jr., 76, of Tampa, Fla., a Fayetteville native and descendent of a prominent pioneer family, died Tuesday at Tampa. He was born at Fayetteville in 1902, the son of Jacob Wythe and Mayme Byrnes Walker.
Mr. Walker attended the Fayetteville schools and the University of Arkansas and was a graduate of Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill. He spent most of his life in the radio business at New York City and Chicago, returning to Fayetteville following his retirement. He moved to Tampa six years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frances Stone Walker of the home; a son, Jacob Wythe Walker of Boston; a daughter, Mrs. Prudence Walker Martin of Tulsa; two brothers, Richard Courtney Walker of Tarrytown, N.Y. and Byrnes Walker of Boca Raton, Fla., and two grandchildren.
Prayer services will be held here later this week at a time to be announced. Burial will be in the Walker Family Cemetery.
