John D. Lemons, former resident of Buford, died at his home in Peoria, IL, June 18th, at the age of 67. He is survived by seven children, five girls and two boys: Mrs. Elizabeth Hayes, Mrs. Ruby Heitzman, Mrs. Myrtle Rica, Mrs. Dovie Clifford and Mrs. Lovie Aurer: sons, Fred and Joe Lemons. One son Charlie Lemons, was killed in and auto accident about two months ago.
Funeral services were held at the Gaussman Mortuary at Peoria, after which the body was brought by train to Cotter. After arriving the body was met by Adams Funeral Service at Cotter and conveyed to the Fairview Cemetery in Buford community, where funeral services were conducted by Rev. A.M. Jones of Mt. Home.
Among the friends and relatives attending the service were Mr. and Mrs. Silas Lemons and family of Flippin, Mr. and Mrs. John Roberts of Cotter and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Watson of Cotter.
