Vistation for Irvin Bowman, a lifetime resident of Norfork, will be from 9AM until 9PM today at Roller Funeral Home. Mr. Bowman died Wednesday at White River Convalescent Home. He was 78.
Funeral services will be at 1PM Saturday at the Galatia Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Larry Shipman officiating. Burial will be in Galatia Cemetery. The names of the pallbearers were not available at presstime.
Survivors include his wife, Lois, of the home; one son, William Bowman of Norfork; three daughters, Stella Hall of Norfork and Lizzie Teague and Lola Perry, both of Wichita, Kansas; one setp son Leroy Nall of Norfork; one step daughter, Jane Mason of St. Louis, MO; three half sisters; 20 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Miles and Janie Mayfield Bowman; his first wife, Para Lee Tilley Bowman; one son Luther Bowman; and one brother.
Mr. Bowman was born March 1, 1905. He married Lois A. Hamilton May 7, 1955, at Norfork. Mr. Bowman was a member of the Galatia Assembly of God Church.

(His first name was spelled Irvin in his obituary. In various family obituaries, it was spelled Irving and Erwin. The obituaries of several of his children listed his name as John William, and he is listed as John on the Social Security Death Index.)
