James Allen Sisk, 70, of Norfork died Sunday, Aug 25, 2002, at Baxter Regional Medical Center.
He was a self-employed carpenter and had worked for the City of Norfork. He belonged to Norfork Volunteer Fire Department and was active in the construction of area dams.
He was born April 1, 1932, to Joe and Callie Sisk. His hobbies included telling stories, being with his grandchildren and family, playing cards, hunting and volunteer work in the ecommunity.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian, of the home; eight children, Vernon (Becky) Sisk, Vickie Holcer, Vince Sisk and Kay (Warren) Gragg, all of Norfork, Donald Sisk, Teresa Henry and Cheryl Taylor, all of Kansas City, MO, and Deddie Eskew of Richland Hills, Texas; 25 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one brother, Lodis (Fay)Sisk of Grandeville, Idaho; three sisters, Maxine (Alvin) Reynolds, Eddie Mae Alexander and Velma Whitfield, all of Norfork; and several nieces, nephews and aunts. He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son, Jimmy Allen; one daughter, Sonya Gray; one granddaughter, Kristy Parnell; two grandsons, Eric Gray and Marty Parnell; four brothers; and one sister.
Visitation will be from noon-9PM today at Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends fro 6-8PM.
A graveside service will be 10AM Thursday at Galatia Cemetery with Pastor Tom Stover officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons, Tony Parnell, John and Travis Gray, Justin and Jeffery Eskew, Jamie, Jerrod and Zachary Sisk, Amos and Layton Sisk, Shannon Sisk and Ryan Sisk.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lone Rock Baptist Church Building Fund.
Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.
