Son of Daniel O. & Mattie James Cooper.
Married Mrs. Mary Funkhouser Southard, November 30, 1965, Mountain Home, Baxter County, Arkansas.

James L. Cooper, 65, a retired Ford Motor Company salesman, died Saturday at Baxter General Hospital.
Mr. Cooper, who lived at Midway, was born March 8, 1917, at Cherry Valley, AR. He had live in California 23 years. He married May Funkhouser Nov 30, 1965, at Mt. Home. He was a member of the Pilgraim'a Rest Baptist Church. Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel O. and Mattie James Cooper.
Survivors include his wife, at home; one son,
Glenn Cooper of Solida, CA; one step son, Keith Southard of Springfield, MO; two daughters Rita Cowart of Clarkridge and Joyce Carter of Madera, CA; four step daughters, Joanne Hicks of Midway, Wilma Teegarden of Jordan, Betty Teague of Salem and Maxine Coggins of Springfield; five granchildren; 10 step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were Tuesday at Pilgraim's Rest Baptist Church with the Rev. Estel Grigg officiating. Burial was in the Galatia Cemetery with Keith Southard, Barton Teague, Franklin Coggins, Noel Teegarden, Darrell Cowart and Truman Dover serving as pallbearers. Acting as honorary pallbearers were John Winkler, Ish Richardson, Henry Mooney, Dean Franks, Bob Carson and Gene Carson.
