Leon Hayes Wilson, son of the late Kermit Carlyle Wilson and Irene Elsie Smith Wilson, was born October 1, 1948, in Norfork. He departed this life June 28, 2006, at his home in Zion at the age of 57 years, 8 months and 27 days.
He was united in marriage to Virginia Faye Teague August 30, 1967, in Mt. View.
During his working years, Leon worked with an aluminum die cast factory in Kentucky and the Mar-Bax Shirt Company. He was an electrician and a CPR instructor. Leon was of the Baptist faith.
Leon leaves to mourn his passing; his wife of 38 years, Faye Wilson of Zion; one son and daughter-in-law, Travis Todd and Amber Wilson of Zion; three daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa Jean and Jewel Dean Cox of Culp, Christal and Marvin Weatherspoon of Batesville and Amelia and Adam Peck of Zion; three brothers, Delbert Wilson of Dallas, Lee Wilson of Mt. Home and Randy Paul Wilson of Heber Springs; two sisters, Elsie Potter of Mt. Home and Maryanna Hammock of Midway; one step mother, Wanda Arnondale of Heber Springs; 12 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; nieces; nephews; step brothers; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Leon Loyd Wilson and Mark Anthony Wilson; one brother, Leado Wolson; two grandchildren, Miranda and Curtis Wilson of Zion; two nieces, Angelia Sue Wilson and Janice Wilson; and one nephew, Michael Wilson.
Funeral services were held July 1, at the Calico Rock Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers were; Travis Wilson, Adam Peek, Marvin Weathespoon, Clayton Henderson, Casey Henderson and Trey Truck. Honorary pallbearers were; Roy Henry, Buddy Henderson, Gregory Wilson, Bradley Edmonston, Dean Cox and Mark Truck.
Burial was at Galatia Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funersl Home in Calico Rock.
