Gordon David Gayer, 69, of Bentonville died March 30, 2007.

He was born Sept. 12, 1938, to Lawrence "Pug" and Ruth Gayer.

He was preceded in death by his earthly father, Pug Gayer. He retired from the drywall business in 1998 after 39 years in Fayetteville and moved to the Wesley area to live his dream of raising cattle. He loved to fish and hunt. But above all this, he loved his Lord and Savior.

Survivors include his wife Glenda of the home; his children, Theresa Burke of Elkins, David and Terri Gayer of Fayetteville, and Brian and Vickie Gayer of Fayetteville; stepchildren Jim and Nicole Coggins of Bella Vista, Gwen and Jessie Moore of Pocahontas, Rodney and Andrea Coggins of Rogers; 17 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren; mother Ruth of Goshen; three brothers, Rance and Jane of Fayetteville, Pete and Linda, and Russell and Connie all of Goshen. His mother- and father-in- law Velma and Eliga Trivitt of Salem. Also two nieces and four nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Beard's Funeral Chapel, www.beardsfuneralchapel.com. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday. Pat Manning will officiate. Burial will be at Habberton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Perkins, Alan Broccard, Calvin Watkins, Mike Gayer, Steve Gayer and Ryan Goodman.
