WOOD, Harry - Harry Wood was born June 26, 1869 near Bethalto, Illinois and departed this life April 7th at the age of 57 years, nine months and eleven days. He was the youngest child of J.P. and Caroline Ralph Wood. He came with his parents to Rogers in 1889 and was united in marriage to Miss Lida Merryfield in 1897, who survives him. To this union was born six children, Mrs. W.W. Giddens, who lives near Hebron; Ethel, Irene, Cecil, Ralph and Lora Wood, who live at home. He is also survived by a brother, L.J. Wood, of Bethalto, Ill. and two sisters, Mrs. Mary H. Reid and Miss Ada Wood, both of Rogers. Brother Wood was a loving and tender husband, a sympathizing and loving father. He was converted and joined the Presbyterian church at New Hope about twenty years ago. Later he joined the Methodist church at Oakley Chapel where he was a faithful worker in the church and a faithful steward until the end. It is our loss but heaven's gain. Funeral services were at Oakley Chapel Saturday, April 9th at 2:30 o'clock and were conducted by his pastor. He leaves a host of friends. Loved ones and friends, you cannot call him back but we can go to him. W.R. Bone.
